New harmless plastics will enter thousands of households-wholesale of high-quality acrylic lenses

On October 21, at the 2018 International Biopolyester Conference (ISBP), Chen Guoqiang, a professor at the School of Life Sciences of Tsinghua University, said that the chemical nature of plastic waste determines that it will cause serious pollution. The landfilling of plastic waste takes up a large area of u200bu200bland and cannot be degraded for hundreds of years. Chen Guoqiang introduced that because plastic is a high molecular polymer formed by the polymerization of monomers, microorganisms in the environment cannot digest and degrade the chemical bonds that connect the monomers in the plastic. Therefore, the plastic cannot be decomposed into monomer form again. 'In other words, once the plastic is synthesized, there is no turning back.' Chen Guoqiang said. Therefore, if plastic garbage is eaten by wild animals, it will cause animal injury or death; when it is incinerated, it will produce a lot of toxic gas... It is worth mentioning that plastic garbage pollutes the ocean the most. 'Science' magazine reports that 8 million tons of plastics end up in the ocean every year. What's more frightening is that through the consumption of seafood and other channels, a large number of plastic particles will enter the human body, and plastic poses a great threat to people's health. These are all problems caused by the inability to degrade plastics. Therefore, scientists around the world are trying to create a substance that has excellent polymer properties like plastics, and can be easily degraded and is non-toxic and harmless. 'Biopolyester' offers this possibility. It is understood that common biopolyester materials include polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA), polylactic acid (PLA) and polyadipate/butylene terephthalate (PBAT). PHA material can be degraded under natural conditions and is non-toxic and harmless to human body and the environment. Due to its diverse monomer types, polymerization methods and polymer chain lengths vary greatly, materials with different material properties can be manufactured, such as common packaging materials and agricultural films. In addition, the market prospects of PHA in medicine, cosmetics, animal feed, etc. are also very broad. In recent years, the basic research and industrialization of new biopolyester materials represented by PHA have progressed rapidly. 'The biggest obstacle hindering the further industrialization and scale-up of biopolyester materials is cost. If the technical cost is reduced, everyone is definitely willing to use this material. We are also constantly looking for ways to reduce costs to promote PHA.' Chen Guoqiang told 'China Science Daily' reporter. In December last year, the 'Next Generation Industrial Biotechnology' pioneered by Chen Guoqiang completed the pilot test of the industrial production of PHA, realizing the mass production capacity of low-cost PHA without sterilization and open continuous fermentation. It can be seen that in the future, bio-polyester materials may replace traditional plastics and enter millions of households. It is reported that the International Biopolyester Conference (ISBP) is held every two years. This conference (ISBP2018) is hosted by Tsinghua University. Chen Guoqiang is the chairperson of the conference. Experts such as Ann-Christine Albertsson, academician of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering, focus on biodegradable biopolyester materials. Launched academic discussions to help bio-polyester materials move towards industrial production. Wholesale high quality acrylic lenses
